From Monday the 12th of April, 2021, Naamsestraat Leuven will get a new asphalt layer. The last time there was renovation work on Naamsestaat was in 2013. Due to this, cars, buses, and cyclist will be following a detour while the renovation work is ongoing.
The renovation work will last until the 24th of April 2021. This will occur in two phases. The road between Naamsepoort and Hendrik Consciencestraat will be closed from 12 to 20 April. The other part of Naamsestraat will remain accessible via the ring, Parkpoort, and Parkstraat. The road between Sint-Michielsstraat and Charles Deberiotstraat will also be closed. Then, the road between Heilig-Hartziekenhuis and the Parkstraat will be closed from 20 to 24 April.
Hartziekenhuis will remain accessible as usual via Naamsestraat. In Parkstraat, two-way traffic between Naamsestraat and Van ‘t Sestichstraat will temporarily also be in place during the entire duration of the work, in order to enable diversions for car traffic. Cyclists will follow a detour via Schapenstraat in both directions for the entire duration of the works. Buses 1 and 2 take a detour via Parkpoort and Frederik Lintsstraat.
